    Cisco Live reveals and unwraps an interesting excitement amongst Cisconian’s all over the world, and specifically, the Product Managers get a new high.      We want to show case new innovations, show futuristic demos, the roadmap of new technology build out, and love having discussion with the customers to understand their requirements. Sometimes formal, and sometimes informal.   Don’t get me wrong it’s "a lot of work" leading to Cisco live, and it exacerbates especially right after new year’s. There are endless days and nights, you feel as if weeks have merged together. The product Managers and Technical Marketing Engineers, work with various Cisco internal Team for new content, and then also for schedules, logistics for the whole event.   Reviews after review, stakes get higher and higher, and the time is always short. We march along and get to Cisco Live all pumped up and excited. And Then There it is, you see the ban...

The world we have built, CCIE Journey, 20 years Life time Emeritus

It struck me when i realized its been 20 years since i got my CCIE on Dec 18 2003. Time flies, i was bestowed with the number 12680. It became my identify ever since. Trust me, i wanted to get a number below 10,000 but work, and building a lab took a long time with new changing requirements. And then most importantly, it was not easy to pass CCIE lab. All of you who are reading this, know how much dedication and multiple attempts it might take to get a CCIE certification. Did i hear 8% passing rate? 😉 Anyways, After graduating with engineering and getting my first job with a Cisco partner, all i wanted was to pass my CCIE lab. My friends who i owe a lot, Atif Awan, Rizwan Afzal and Ibrahim Malick, contributed immensely in taking me along this journey.  I still remember when i first saw a cat 1900 24 port switch, a Cisco 4000 and Cisco 2911 routers with async ports.
